Jenny McCarthy To Join 'The View'

So it's official: Jenny McCarthy is set to replace Joy Behar as the next co-host on the ABC weekday talk show The View. But not everyone's cool with it.

According to an article in the New York Post, the actress and former Playboy playmate famous for her anti-vaccine stance will be joining the all-female panel of the talk show created by Barbara Walters in 1997.

"We love [Jenny] because she's fun, she's uninhibited and she's opinionated enough to help us begin the latest chapter in The View history," said Walters. Opinionated—that's what worries me. Her opinions about vaccines and autism aren't exactly sound, and can be dangerously influential, especially once she secures an even bigger media platform.

McCarthy will make her official debut on September 9 at the start of the show's 17th season, though the 40-year-old has made as many as 17 past guest appearances. So you might say she's a natural successor to Behar, despite her Playboy credentials.

It's all change at The View, as another vacancy was announced recently, with Elisabeth Hasselbeck also leaving the show to join Fox News Channel, and Walters herself gearing up for retirement next year. Remaining hosts are Sherri Shepherd and Whoopi Goldberg.

Do you think McCarthy is a good fit to host the show? Who else would you add to the panel?
