Disney, Like You've Never Seen it

Artist Tinkers with Cartoon Icons

"Not so pretty or so pure after all..." This was the instagram caption user LibertyRoss added to a cartoon of a drunken Snow White, parodying the recent debacle with Kristen Stewart who starred in the dystopian fairy tale.

Clearly not a good week for Stewart, but it was for Mexican artist José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros who gave Disney the R-rated treatment in his Los Angeles show, "Disasterland." His paintings feature the cartoon icons like you've never seen them before: think Cinderella in a meat dress, Jasmine and Belle in a lesbian kiss, and the Queen from Snow White snorting powder.

"I think it's time to stop being afraid and to speak without hesitation about certain taboo subjects," Rodolfo told the Huffington Post. He claims to have "utmost respect" for the Disney films, which served as his early inspiration.

If you happen to be in the Los Angeles area, you can catch "Disasterland" at La Luz de Jesus Gallery which runs until 2 September.

What say you, yummies: vulgar or visionary?
