Growing up, I didn’t really know my cousins because most of my relatives live in England. When I did see them, we didn’t hang out very much because they are quite a bit older than me, so I love that my kids have lots of cousins who live close enough so they can really get to know one another.
Tom’s brother’s children and ours are very close despite living 2 hours apart and this weekend, they were in town for a visit.
Technically, they were staying at Tom’s parent’s house, but when you see them together, you just don’t want to separate them, so it wasn’t hard for them to convince us that they should have sleepovers every night.
You know what that means? Lots of kids at our house!
It was fantastic.
And now, Rebecca (6), has gone to stay with her other cousins (her dad’s brother’s children) for a week.
It really makes me happy that they have a chance to get to know one another and I hope they will have lifelong relationships.
