Mixed Herb Roasted Chicken Recipe

An Easy, and Delicious Weeknight Dinner With Club House Bag'n Season

I don't think any of you would be surprised to learn that I like Club House seasonings, gravy mixes, baking products, and spices as much as the next girl but I'm not going to lie when I tell you I was a wee bit unsure about making dinner in a bag. So when I was offered the opportunity to try the Club House Bag'n Season Mixed Herb Chicken mix, I truly had my doubts. But the promise of a classic roasted chicken dinner seasoned with rosemary and basil on the table in under an hour (yes this includes prep time!) was too good to pass up.

As a work-outside-the-home mom to three kids in after-school activities, I constantly feel time-pressured, especially at dinner time. That's why I'm always trying (and sharing with all of you) fast and easy meal ideas that your kids will actually eat. Club House Bag'n Season definitely meets those three requirements. It was fast and easy to put together and my kids (and husband) were not only shocked to see a roast chicken dinner on the table on a MONDAY after I had worked all day, they also devoured it — so much so that next time I make this, I am going to put a few extra pieces of chicken in the bag to have leftovers for their school lunches the next day.

When I say it's easy, I mean really easy!

Simply put your veggies, chicken, and seasoning in the bag.

Turn to coat, then bake.

Remove from oven and let sit while you look for the platter you don't usually need for weeknight dinners.

Enjoy!

Making dinner with Bag'n Season feels like a complete "Mommy Win" to me but I'll let you in on another unexpected perk — getting a few extra minutes to myself. If you're a busy mom with active kids like me, you know the drill. Just before attempting to throw something together for dinner, you find a way to keep your kids entertained and out of the high-traffic kitchen area so you can do your thing. The night I tried it for the first time, the kids were occupied with play-doh. As they happily played at the kitchen table I was pleasantly surprised that it took me a total of five minutes to get dinner in the oven.

Kids playing happily with play-doh + dinner in the oven in under 5 minutes = mom time!

Don't get too excited though, it was only 20 minutes of peace and quiet before the play-doh fun ran out, but in those 20 minutes I sent a handwritten thank you card to a friend, checked my email, AND unloaded the dishwasher. Did I mention I got to do all of this in peace and quiet and completely uninterrupted?

Ingredients:

1 package Club House Bag'n Season Mixed Herb Chicken
2 lbs skinless chicken (I used 4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts)
3 cups diced vegetables (I used onion, potatoes, mushrooms, and carrots)

Open your cooking bag, remove sticker, and unfold.

Place diced vegetables, chicken, and seasoning mix into the bag and seal using enclosed tie approximately 1 inch from top of bag.

Turn the bag a couple of times until the veggies and chicken are evenly coated with the seasoning.

Place in 9x13 baking dish being sure to arrange your chicken in one flat layer.

Pierce the bag 4 times and bake in lower half of preheated 350F oven for 50 minutes (Note: be sure your bag has at least 8 inches to expand without touching oven racks or walls!).

Remove from oven, let sit 5 minutes then carefully open the bag and place contents on a serving dish.

Enjoy!
