Spinning... In Water?

If you love spinning and swimming, this is the exercise for you.

I'm not the biggest fan of running shoes, and have never packed a pair in my suitcase. I do my best to stay fit and active, though—swimming, spinning, and long walks with my family. Also, shopping. That totally counts as a sport, and I know I burn hundreds of calories by walking through my favourite malls carrying shopping bags!

Anyway, I just read about the newest spinning craze that has been super popular in Europe for a while now—Aquacycling! Imagine sitting on a stationary bike... submerged in a pool? I am so curious and can't wait to try a class when it comes to my city. Basically you strap on a pair of water jelly shoes and start... spinning. In water. Pretty cool, huh?

Aqua-spinning came out in the 90s and was developed by a physical therapist in Italy. The perfect form of exercise to burn off all those delicious Italian carbs? Maybe...

On average, one Aqua-spinning class burns 600 calories, but apparently, you don't feel hot or sweaty afterwards, like you would in a "normal" spinning class. An underwater stationary bike sounds like so much fun, and it sounds like a great way to burn some calories while having fun in the water. I'm sure that Aqua-spinning will totally catch on in Canada soon.

Have you tried Aqua-spinning yet? Would you?
