The Rain Gear You Need

From Rain Boots To Rain Slickers, Here's How To Keep Dry When It's Wet Outside!

Umbrella, Rain, Rain Gear, Rain Drops

April showers bring May flowers? You can count on it! However, it seems we've gotten more rain in June and July that we did during the spring months.

I'm not a fan of rain—I'd much rather spend my days outside, when the sun is shining. Even though there's no controlling the crazy and unpredictable weather, we can be prepared by having the right equipment, right?

From rain boots to umbrellas, here's what you and your little ones need to be prepared the next time you're caught in a storm!

Hunter Boots: I finally bought myself a pair of Hunter rain boots, and I wear them even when it's not raining out. They offer amazing protection from the rain. The best part? They're stylish, and comfortable! Hunter boots are available for women, men, and children, and retail for about $150.00. Expensive? Yes. But you'll never have to buy another pair of rain boots again for yourself! Worth it for the kids? Probably not, since their little feet grow so quickly.

Bogs: I love Bogs for children! These boots are worth it, because they can be worn even in the winter, too. They're basically all-season boots, and keep little feet warm and dry. My boys have the "winter" boots but they're perfect for spring, too. Bogs also makes rain boots, and they're very reasonably priced, at around $40.00, and perfect for rainy days in the summertime. These are sold at most children's shoe stores, or online.

Umbrella: I own way more umbrellas than I should because every time it starts to rain, my umbrella is nowhere near me. Now, I have at least two in my trunk, so I'm almost always prepared when the rain starts. I love stylish and cute umbrellas, like this one from Nordstrom. This Jonathan Adler umbrella is $33.00.

Children's Rain Gear: How cute are children in their little rain jackets and rain boots, holding their umbrella? Adorable, and so picture-perfect! I love this set from Nordstrom. The umbrella is under $20.00 and it would also make a perfect gift!

I also love this set for girls, too. So adorable, yet practical.

Raindrops in Toronto sells some amazing umbrellas for children, for around $20.00. They also sell a wide variety of rain boots, too. (Their new location is on 50 Bloor Street!)

Stores like WalMart, Kiddie Kobbler, The Bay, Nordstrom, and most children's stores carry a nice selection of umbrellas and rain boots, too, at very affordable prices, even in July.

Happy rain gear shopping! Here's hoping you all stay safe and dry next time you're caught in an unexpected rain storm.
