In an interesting marketing twist, Sears Canada has announced it will soon be carrying the Penningtons plus-size line in select stores this year. The change will see 4000 square-foot shops opening in locations such as Ontario's Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket and the Toronto Eaton Centre. Three other as-yet-unannounced locations as well as sears.ca will also offer the apparel beginning in late September. In 2014, the brand will appear in several more stores as well as in the Sears spring catalogue.
This is good news for women who have found curvy clothing selection dwindling in malls across Canada for the last few years as chains have moved their stores to other locations. With 156 stores across Canada, Penningtons sees this is a long term partnership. I for one am excited to see this much needed change take place offering women more selection in one of Canada's major department stores.
