Kelli Daisy: Scene and Heard

Christmas is my favourite time of the year. From the baking to the cooking to the decorating and wrapping, I love it all. I even love the shopping because I truly enjoy the giving part of the season and nothing makes me happier than finding the perfect gift for every person on my list.  With the majority of my big purchases done and less than two weeks until the big day, I’m on to my favourite part - stocking stuffers.  Buying stuffing stockings is fun because that’s when you can pick up a collection of little items perfectly selected for each person.

It seems that Barbara Walters and I have a very different definition of the word ‘Fascinating’. Last night Barbara hosted her annual ‘Most Fascinating People’ special and while I am normally underwhelmed by her choices, this year I was just confused.

It was a very Glee Christmas, and Baby, its cold outside!  Seriously, It’s  f#*king freezing in my house! But Baby, It’s Cold Outside – the duet between Kurt and Blaine was the absolutely best part of the entire show.

I love Glee, I really do.  And I’m a Glee apologist too – because I defend the show to absolutely everyone who ‘just doesn’t get Glee’.  But I was soooo looking forward to this ‘all Christmas Glee’ episode and instead I was left with a really crappy episode.

I Want Chelsea Handler To Be My Friend

Every Woman Could Use A Friend Like Chelsea

I have a confession to make – I don’t like the Brangelina.  Nope, not even a little bit.  Sure they might have 6 of the most gorgeous kids in Hollywood today, but I still don’t like them.  And yes, I believe that Angelina Jolie is a home wrecker and Brad Pitt is a filthy adulterer.  So when Chelsea Handler decided to take pot shots at Angelina Jolie during one of her stand up shows, all I could think of was ‘F**k yeah!’

Tangled Is My New Favourite Disney Movie

And Why It Should Be Yours Too

It has been a long time since I have seen a new animated Disney movie that I felt comfortable saying would become an instant classic. But last weekend I was lucky enough to preview the latest offering from Disney and I think I can say, with absolute certainty, that Tangled will definitely be crowned a classic.

Tangled tells the classic tale of Rapunzel, the princess with the magic hair who is kidnapped by the evil old lady and raised as her own because she wants to keep the magic of her hair all to herself.

So back in the summer I wrote a post about my youngest son Joey and his obsession with Dora.  Yes, Dora the Explorer, that cute, smart, adventurous animated character - who I swear some days he loves more than me.  I had the opportunity to give away five DVD’s for her latest birthday special and surprisingly, there were A LOT of you out there with kids who love Dora as much as mine!

I shouldn’t have been surprised – after all The American Music Awards are kind of like the P Diddy of awards shows. Long ago they sat atop the A-list of awards shows but now they sit just below Dancing with the Stars in terms of popularity. You know, once upon a time they were cool and drew the hottest performers but now people just feel sorry for them and show up out of pity and a small sense of obligation to Dick Clark who apparently has now been replaced in every capacity by Ryan Seacrest.

I admit it – growing up I was a huge game show fan. I would sit and watch The $10000 Pyramid, Wheel of Fortune (back when you would actually buy prizes with your winnings!) and of course Hollywood Squares (the Jim J Bullock version). Game shows were fun to watch because you could interact with the people on the TV and it was a show you could watch with your parents and you’d all enjoy it.

It Will Get Better

Suicide Is Not The Answer

Lately there has been lots of tragedy in the news. From Tyler Clementi, to Marie Osmond’s son, to a former contestant on The Bachelorette, suicide has become a trend that is not only all too common, but incredibly scary. This past weekend the 14 year old daughter of the assistant coach of the Ottawa Senators took her own life. At fourteen years old something bothered this girl so much that she took her own life.

Did you catch last night's CMA winners?  I love myself a good awards show, but I have to admit I tend to run kicking and screaming from anything that remotely resembles Country Music. But, last night, when faced with either watching another episode of ‘Family Guy’ or tuning in to catch at least the opening of the Country Music Awards I decided on the CMA’s – mostly because Carried Underwood was hosting and given that she married Ottawa Senator Mike Fisher and I’m from Ottawa I was almost obligated to do so.

Seth Rogen Engaged

The Longtime Couple Get Ready To Settle Down

Seth Rogen is engaged to his long-time girlfriend Laura Miller! I love reading stories like this mostly because I love seeing good things happen to Canadians! Seth Rogen,  the Canadian funny man proposed to his girlfriend after 6 years of dating, and after Miller had given up hope that it would actually happen! Rogen is set to star in the upcoming Green Lantern, and of course we all know him from his hilarious movies like The 40-Year Old Virgin, Anchorman and Superbad.

Demi Lovato checked herself into rehab this week and never has a topic caused so much speculation for a teen starlet than since Britney Spears appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone and everyone wondered if she had a boob job or not!

Demi Lovato is one of my kid’s most favourite television characters. We watch Sonny with a Chance religiously and Camp Rock 2 is on my PVR and is played almost as much as Dora (which is definitely saying something).

It's Not Be'Cause' I Don't Care

Enough With The Social Media Causes Already!

October is breast cancer awareness month, November turns into ‘Movember’ when men grow moustaches in support of men’s cancers, we’ve been asked to wear purple to support the stop gay-bullying message, and purple is also for epilepsy awareness. We’re supposed to shut down our social media outlets in support of Autism and post where we put our purses on our facebook status in support of women’s cancers. We wear red ribbons to show our support for AIDS awareness and men walk in women’s shoes to support women’s cancers.
