So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye

Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow

The very first time I met Erica Ehm I made it very clear to her that I wanted to be on TV. I've always been a bit of an attention seeker—I have strong opinions and I never really shied away from sharing them, and I've never met a camera I didn't like.  I'm not very shy after all. And even knowing all of that Erica took a chance on me and let me start writing this blog even though I was loud, had strong opinions, and had never written anything before.

It has been almost 3 years since I started writing here about my obsession with celebrity and pop culture and I have loved every single minute of it.  But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, and as much as I hate to do it it's time for me to hang up my Scene and Heard title and move on.

When I started writing this blog I was a stay at home mom of 4 kids between the ages of 7 and 1. This blog allowed me to explore what I really wanted to do—which just happened to be to write about the lives of the rich, beautiful and famous, and possibly work on TV. Over the course of the last 3 years I have attended red carpet events, met reality stars, hung out with former boy banders and almost—almost landed myself a hosting gig on television

Now that my kids are a bit older life is getting increasingly busy around here.  I started my own blog where I get to indulge my celebrity obsession every day and I have also started to do the occasional guest appearance on my local morning television show as well as on various radio shows. And I love it so, so much.

But something had to give.

It is bittersweet that this will be my last post as The Pop Culture Mummy, but if I hadn't had the experiences of these 3 years I wouldn't be half the person I am today.  And I won't be gone completely—I'll still post the occasional article when I feel the need to rant about some crazy celebrity—but life has just gotten too busy for me to be able to post here as often as you deserve to read.

Thank you to Erica for taking a chance on me, to my fellow bloggers for being the most amazing team mates a girl could have, and thank you to all of you who read my words. This really has been the most incredible experience.

I would love it if you would come to visit me sometime over at kellidaisy.com or chat with me on twitter at @kellidaisy. Until we meet again.
