Real Housewife Teresa Giudice Arrested

How Does This Even Happen?

A few years ago, Wesley Snipes was sent to jail for tax evasion, and at that time, I had no idea how that could even happen. I truly don't understand how someone can be so insane as to not pay their taxes, or be so greedy as to screw over people/the government, but here we are again. Real Housewife Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe turned themselves in on 39 charges of fraud including defrauding lenders, falsifying documents to obtain mortgages and hiding money during their bankruptcy case.

Basically, what it comes down to is that they lied in court, to the IRS (CRA's American cousin), and Teresa allegedly forged pay stubs in order to obtain a mortgage. The two were released on $500,000 bond (each) but if they are found guilty, they could each potentially spend the next 50 years in jail. And, to top it all off, news came down late Wednesday evening that Bravo is looking at potentially cancelling the NJ version of Housewives because Teresa's legal woes have been too troubling for the network.

That's a big deal.

What I really don't understand is their motivation here. Is it greed? They have kids, and they must have known that lying to the government and the courts could see them face jail time. How selfish do you need to be in order to lie to that degree? And before anyone thinks otherwise, I'd do anything for my kids, except something that could land me in jail. At least something as shady as this. It's not like these people are poor, or they are stealing bread to feed their family. Teresa gets paid well as a Real Housewife. Her husband has money, otherwise, she would have never been on the show in the first place. So what the hell are they doing over there?

The only thing I can think of is that their sense of entitlement is huge if they thought they could get away with all this baloney. For their kids' sake, I really hope that they both don't get put in jail. That would be terrible.

So, spill it! What do you think of Teresa Giudice's arrest?
