January Jones Won't Reveal Paternity Of Son

"It's my son's business, not the public's business."

January Jones was interviewed for the New York Times this week, and part of the interview delved into the paternity of her 20-month-old son, Xander. The outspoken yet introverted actress replied, "It's my son's business, not the public's business." She goes on to talk about how Jack Nicholson once told her that the press do their best to pick celebrities apart if they are too public about their personal lives.

Jones is everyone's favourite ex-wife to hate on Mad Men as Betty (Draper) Frances, and it's no surprise that she's very quiet about her personal life. Being one of the stars of one of the biggest television shows will have people banging down your door to get a piece of you, and at 35, she feels comfortable in her own skin enough to let everyone keep guessing. So, it was a huge adventure for the media when Jones showed up pregnant 2 years ago, and no one knew who the father was, as she was single at the time. Rumours have swirled that it's anyone from ex-boyfriend Jason Sudekis to X-Men First Class director Matthew Vaughn. But, she remained tight-lipped on the subject.

In the recent NYT interview, she goes on to say that women should have secrets, and that if we give them all away, "what would we write in our memoirs?" Which seems like a very cheeky way of saying, "eff off already."

I've personally never been bothered by January Jones either way, but think she's perfect for her role on Mad Men. That being said, I find her definitely more interesting now because it's almost as if she's playing a game with the media. She's done an excellent job keeping her private life private, and of course, that means that the press want more and more information. I, for one,  think we should be applauding her choice to be a single mum (and by all accounts a great one) and not allowing her son's paternity or her personal relationships interfere with her job as a parent.

So, spill it! What do you think about January Jones' son's paternity? Do you agree that it is a non-issue?
