The Bra That Can Detect True Love

I Only Unhook for Prince Charming

The Bra That Can Detect True Love

bra that detects true love

Forget squeezing into a glass slipper. There's a new bra on the market that—get this—only unhooks for Prince Charming. According to an article in the Guardian, the so-called "smart bra" is the latest in gadget undergarments.

This wearable tech from Japanese lingerie retailer Ravijour reacts to the user's heart rate, and when that gets racing, a signal is sent to a smartphone via Bluetooth. An app then analyzes the “True Love Rate,” and if the magic number is reached, said bra pops open. Boom.

Nicknamed the chastity bra of our times, "True Love" isn't all it's cracked up to be. Though a fun concept, there are a number of flaws in the design—such as all the non-saucy situations that can cause your heart to race in an average day, or, as the article suggests, "if—shock horror—you want to have sex with someone you don't actually love."

Conversely, what happens if you don't want to have sex with someone you're supposed to love? Er, it's complicated . . .

Gimmick or good Valentine's Day fun? Which would you sooner go for—smart-bra or smart-undies?

Is This Proof That No Baby Is "Too Young To Love"?

Family Heals Through Photographs With Dying Infant

Is This Proof That No Baby Is "Too Young To Love"?

family heals after stillbirth

Losing a child is devastating—at any age. One family has released images of their newborn Walter Joshua Fretz, who died just minutes after he was born, having only been carried to 19 weeks. The family shared these images (via Viral Nova) not only to help them and others deal with a similar loss, but to illustrate just how precious and miraculous life is. Proof that no baby is "too young to love."

People from all over have contacted Walter's mother, claiming they were touched by his story. He also serves as a pertinent reminder that a fetus is not just "a blob of cells"a fact we often lose sight of when we can't see what is developing inside of our bodies.

Controversially, Walter's mother allowed her daughters to hold and be photographed with their baby brother, even as they heard the awful truthWalter was dead. This famous family also captured images to remember their lost child.

Heartbreaking as it is, can holding or photographing a dying baby help a family grieve together?

Girl Calls Out Lego On Gender Bias

All the girls did was sit at home...

Girl Calls Out Lego On Gender Bias

girl lego

Sometimes a few choice words scribbled in a notebook say it all. This is one of those times. A seven-year-old named Charlotte had a beef with Lego and its perpetual gender biases, and had no qualms about taking it up with the company directly.

Here is the letter (courtesy of BuzzFeed):

Dear Lego company:

My name is Charlotte. I am 7 years old and I love legos but I don’t like that there are more Lego boy people and barely any Lego girls.

Today I went to a store and saw legos in two sections the girls pink and the boys blue. All the girls did was sit at home, go to the beach, and shop, and they had no jobs but the boys went on adventures, worked, saved people, and had jobs, even swam with sharks.

I want you to make more Lego girl people and let them go on adventures and have fun ok!?!

Thank you.

From Charlotte.

Proof that consumers have a voice, and it is consumers—not manufacturers—who dictate a product's ultimate popularity and saleability. Her concerns are especially warranted, given that gender-specific toys can have long-ranging effects on kids.

Fist bumps to Charlotte for finding and using her voice! Let's hope Lego, and companies like it, have their ears perked and their own notebooks handy...

Do you agree that Lego needs to wise up?
