Spring is here!
Well, at least in the world of fashion and beauty. Of course, that means new looks and new trends to add to your wardrobe and makeup collection.
1. Shimmer Eye Shadow
Jewel-inspired eyeshadow will be all the rage this year. Soft shimmer—not sparkle—will be the key element to create this particular trend. Softer colours are best, so the light can reflect without being too obvious.
My favourite tones are: yellow, white, grey, copper, rose, and peach.
From the new Daniel Thompson Beauty Bejewelled Minerals Collection (launching in stores April 1):
Yellow Diamond
Pearl
Platinum
Polished Copper
Roselle
Terra Peach
2. Rich Eye Liner
With the softness of the eyeshadow, definition is created by using rich, warm tones for eye liner. Liquid liner is out, and powder liner is in. A hard line is not required, rather a soft, smudged line will create the definition, and respect the delicate nature of the shimmer eye shadow.
My favourite tone is: metallic brown.
From the new Daniel Thompson Beauty Bejewelled Minerals Collection (launching in stores April 1):
Copper
3. Pastel Lipstick
The most important facet of makeup this spring is intense pastels for the lips—think candy coating colours that create impact, while centralizing the focus of the look on the mouth. Opaque, full colour that is bold and bright is the way to go.
My favourite tones are: purple and coral.

Iced Violet
Pink Coral
Precious Coral
