Jessica Lea Mayfield is a singer/songwriter from Kent, Ohio who is turning heads with her stripped down raw country meets folk rock meets indie musical vibe.
Jessica has been performing since she was eight years old and at age 15, she recorded her first EP White Lies in her brother's bedroom.
One of those copies fell into the hands of Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. After an introduction, Mayfield and Auerbach hit the studio, laying the foundation of her debut album With Blasphemy So Heartfelt.
Spin named her on of their '35-must-hear-acts at SXSW and featured her as part of their 'next big thing in 2011' predictions.
Dan Auerbach had a heavy hand in the making of her latest release 'Tell Me' (well he 'discovered' her after all)- and you can hear his influence all over the album. And that lends itself to that badass quality that is winning critics over.
