One of the songs that I can listen to repeat a few hundred times over is 'Iris' by the Goo Goo Dolls.
I kinda like it...like a lot.
It quite possibly had to do with my slight crush on singer guitarist John Rzeznik. Cough. Cough.
Well the band is back with a new single and video...and gotta say this new offering (which has an anthem-y kind of feel) is equally as 'get stuck in your head and makes you want to hit replay'...
And just for added an added bonus, here's a behind-the-scenes making of the video...
The Goo Goo Dolls' new album Magnetic is set for release June 11, 2013.
And you can catch the Goo Goo Dolls on tour this summer, as they co-headline with Matchbox 20. The tour makes its way to Toronto at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on June 27.
All hail the Canadian Music Scene!
The JUNO Awards are coming up this Sunday night on CTV — hosted by Mr. Bublicious himself, Michael Buble.
There is even on award where you can actually help choose the winner...and cue the JUNO Fan Choice Award.
The nominees this year include: Carly Rae Jepsen, Celine Dion, Metric, Hedley, Nickelback, Michael Buble, Drake, Leonard Cohen, Justin Bieber, and Marianas Trench.
If you haven't voted yet, you still have time. Just head over to the JUNO Awards website and make your pick. In the meantime, here are some music videos from the aforementioned nominees...
And remember: Go. Vote. Now. And support Canadian music. OK I'm done preaching now.
My clear obsession for NKOTB—not-quite-restraining-order-level bias aside—I gotta say that their new album '10' is really really good.
There's always that slippery slope of boy bands from back in the day trying to come back with an album in their 40s (yes little Joey McIntyre is 40 years old — I'll give you a moment to digest that...) and making it sound like it belongs in 2013. And cue the current boy band world obsession with those UK boys 'One Direction.'
But the five boys from Boston managed to do just that...they stuck with the formula that they're good at and known for, and their latest offering '10' is worth the download on iTunes.
The first single released from the new album was 'Remix'...
But the song that I've had on repeat a kajillion times since I downloaded it from iTunes is 'Fighting Gravity'... The boy band loving girl in me was sighing at the lyrics from the first time I heard it...
Go on listen to it and let the NKOTB love flow. I mentioned that I'm going to their concert here in Ottawa at Scotiabank Place on June 4 right? Or was that already obvious?
