"This album will really put them in the forefront of what’s going on, they are unique, there’s no one like them out there…Whenever they play a live show with me, they open the show. I’ve never heard an opening act get a standing ovation after every song…because no one has seen things like this before." ~Elton John
Back in 2011 this mind blowing cover of Michael Jackson's 'Smooth Criminal' went viral...
Since then Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser have been busy making music ever since they captured the attention of Elton John who took them under his wing and brought them into his band for a worldwide tour. The success of their first album brought them exposure on national television shows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and multiple spots on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
In January 2012, they were invited to appear as the special musical guests on the monster hit TV show Glee. They performed “Smooth Criminal” with cast member Naya Rivera in a special Michael Jackson tribute episode. On their new album, IN2ITION, guest artists include Elton John, guitarist Steve Vai, Glee’s Naya Rivera, classical superstar Lang Lang, legendary Italian vocalist Zucchero and pop artist Sky Ferriera.
IN2ITION offers 2CELLO’s fresh and unique twist on classics such as Fleetwood Mac’s “Oh, Well,” The Prodigy’s “Voodoo People,” Coldplay’s “Clocks,” Rhianna’s “We Found Love,” AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell,” Muse’s “Supermassive Black Hole,” Cher and Nancy Sinatra’s “Bang Bang,” The Police’s “Every Breath You Take” and Elton John’s “Candle In The Wind.”
IN2ITION also features a 2CELLOS original track, “Orient Express.” The Orient Express was a legendary train from Paris to Istanbul that passed through the Balkans, including Croatia. “We drew our inspiration for the melodies from our Balkan roots and the continual persistent rhythms of the track resembles a train, hence the title.” says Luka.
The first single is their rendition of ACDC's 'Highway To Hell.'
Oh and cause I love these guys so much....here's another of their covers I became slightly obsessed with...even Axl would be impressed.
