With THE Royal Wedding upon us there is much in the news about princes and princesses. Activity Alert! -- it's a game, it's a thought-puzzle, it's a boredom buster! How many movies can you name - that have princes and princesses as characters...GO!

That's the list I wrote with my kids. 22 movies with princes and/or princesses. From princess tea parties to real life weddings at the Disney castle.
Want a royal activity? Ask your kids to play the movie prince/princess name game. Or have a princess tea party. Or knight someone with a kitchen spoon.
The thing I like best about prince and princess stories...they make us remember that "happily ever after" is possible.

To decorate Easter eggs with food colouring you will need...
Hard boiled eggs (or blown out ones) Food colouring Water Vinegar Container Spoon (or wire) Paper towel
1) Mix about 20 or so drops of food colouring with 1 tbsp of vinegar and 1/2 cup of tepid water.
2) Repeat this step with different colours to create a rainbow (recycle tip: use clean, used, coffee cans to hold the mixtures - then you can trash them).
3) Using a spoon (or my friend once made an egg holder with copper wire) lower the hard boiled egg into the colour mixture. The longer you leave the egg in the more vibrant the colour.
4) Pat the coloured egg dry with a paper towel.
Remember: food colouring stains so break out the art bibs.

Growing up (and still now) my family gifts small presents at Easter rather than chocolates. With my own kids, the "Easter Bunny" makes a scavenger hunt to find messages, in those dollar store Easter eggs, which leads them to a small toy rather than candy. Recently, I was offered a giveaway which encourages parents to gift outside the sugar aisle for Easter and I just had to share it with you...
Why is non-edible-treats a good Easter idea? Because lots of kids have food sensitivities and cannot enjoy "traditional" Easter treats. Some kids do "do" sweet treats well (I'm talking specifically about my 2nd child who is a chocoholic and will eat chocolate until she throws up. Really. Projectile.) Plus, if you really think about it...the Easter Bunny is really just a business-maker for the Tooth Fairy.
Bonus: actual-stuff-presents gives the kids something to do after Easter dinner rather than have them go all sugar-high-crazy.
So back to the giveaway...
In celebration of Easter, Hasbro has put out an Easter Mr. Potato Head Spud Bunny (complete with Bunny ears), Wheel Pals and Play Dough in eggs. And of course, they have an assortment great preschool games, which are family budget friendly, and tons of fun for kids to play after that Easter dinner while the parents enjoy their coffee.
