All Over Oxblood

Wear this fall's hottest colour

Oxblood red is all the rage these days. It certainly is not a new color on the scene, but it has been re-invented it seems and has become somewhat of an "it" color. Oxblood has completely taken over the runways—and the malls and salons. While its name is not particularly on the lovely side, the deep and gorgeous color makes up for it completely. It's not quite red, it's not quite burgundy, it's not quite wine. It taps into the brown family, as opposed to the burgundys and the reds and the wines which seem to lean towards purples and violets.

The best part is that it's super versatile. Use it for a great pop of color with any outfit—a great scarf, a bold bag, rich nails. It pairs beautifully with jewel tones—try it with blues, greens, teals, even citrines. It works seemlessly with the usual shades in your wardrobe—black, camel, cream, brown, navy. Try it with metallic accessories, leopard patterns, even geometrics.

It's easy to work into any wardrobe, both conservative and more daring. And it looks great on women of any age with any skin tone, which means you won't run the risk of dressing too much like your grandma, or too much like your children.

And it certainly doesn't hurt that a certain Duchess of Cambridge that we all know and love has been spotted wearing it.
