Finding Stuff Out

Go Ask Harrison

Finding Stuff Out

Calling all parents with hyper-curious kids. Are the whys driving you to drink? If the answer is a resounding yes, then TVO has got the program for you.

The new 'edutainment' show, aimed at kids 11 years and under called Finding Stuff Out, does exactly what it says on the tin. Real kids send in real questions about anything under the sun and then the 15-year-old host, Diary of a Wimpy Kid's Harrison Houde, attempts to answer them c/o google, some clever graphics and age-appropriate banter.

Think typical kid questions like, "Why does the moon follow you?", "Can humans grow fur?" (just visit the local YMCA) and "Is snow really white?" To which Harrison gets to quip, "Not if a dog pees on it."

The show is fun way to get your kid interested in science. So save your dull pause the next time your kid asks, "Mom/Dad, why is the sky blue?" and reply, "I'm not sure, sweetheart, why don't we ask Harrison?"

Heck, you might even learn a thing or two, e.g. bet you didn't know how to distinguish between different dog barks and what they mean? Me neither, yet that's exactly the sort of dinner party conversation starter this yummy lives for.

Finding Out Stuff premiered this past Friday on TVO. Click here to find out which other kids show get our proverbial thumbs up.

Splitsville for Seal/Klum

Sealed with a Kiss

Splitsville for Seal/Klum

One of the most 'successful' married couples has called it a day after six years of marriage—an eternity in celebrity circles. German supermodel Heidi Klum and British singer Seal are said to be filing for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences."

As for 48-year-old Seal, he simply posted a cryptic "The End" on Twitter.

The couple have three children together (and another, adopted by Seal when met pregnant Klum).

They were as famous for their devotion as their lavish reiteration of wedding vows every year—the last of which saw them pose as 'white trash' in a ceremony complete with an Elvis impersonator, a mullet wig for Seal and cornrows for Heidi.

In December 2004, the soul singer romantically proposed to Heidi inside an igloo he'd built on a glacier in our very own native land.

Sad, surprising news, unlike some of these breakups. Why are celebrity marriages doomed to fail, do you think?

RECALL: Chariot Carriers Child Bicycle Trailers

Potential Fall Hazard

RECALL: Chariot Carriers Child Bicycle Trailers

Health Canada has recalled Chariot bicycle trailers and conversion kits with serial numbers from 1205-xxxx to 0710-xxxx (found on the left side on the frame). The hitch mechanisms can crack and break, causing the trailer to detach from the bicycle which in turn would pose an injury hazard to children.

Although Chariot has has received two reports of incidents in Canada, no injuries have been reported.

Customers are advised to stop using the recalled trailers and conversion kits and contact Chariot Carriers for a free repair kit and instructions.

Customers can receive a repair kit by contacting Chariot at 1-800-262-8651 between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit the company's website.

From December 2005 through August 2010, approximately 41,000 of the recalled bicycle trailers, and from October 2002 through August 2011, 64,000 of the conversion kits were sold in Canada.
