Unlike many of us, Amber Miller didn't spend the latter weeks of her pregnancy with her feet up. The 27-year-old Chicago native had just finished running the windy city's marathon when she went into labour.
For Miller, who was 39 weeks pregnant when she started the 26.2-mile (42.2km) race, it wasn't the first marathon she'd run while pregnant although she admits she hadn't expected to cross the finish line this time.
"I was kind of planning on running about half and maybe skipping to the end and walking across the finish line," Miller said.
According to a report in the Chicago Tribune, Miller alternated between running and walking two miles at a time.
After the race she sat down to eat with her husband Joe. Then the contractions started. Her second child was born later that night, and both mom and baby are healthy.
Apparently doctors knew about Miller's pregnancy exercise regime and had no objections to her running the marathon.
Hm. I remember being cautioned not to do vigorous cardio during the latter stages of pregnancy.
Do think running a marathon while heavily pregnant is sensible or obsessive?
When it comes to marriage, Sir Paul McCartney is hardly once bitten, twice shy. After a very messy (not to mention costly) divorce to Heather Mills three years ago, the ex-Beatle must be the world's most diehard romantic.
As 69-year-old Macca serenaded his new bride, 51-year-old American heiress, Nancy Shevell, he wept openly. After the ceremony at the Marylebone Town Hall in central London, the former Beatles front man declared, "I feel absolutely wonderful."
McCartney must be getting sentimental in his old age. He not only got hitched on what would have been band mate and long time collaborator John Lennon's 71st birthday (Lennon was murdered in 1980), McCartney and his third bride tied the knot at the same venue where he wed his first wife, Linda, who lost a battle with breast cancer in 1998. I wonder how Shevell felt about that...
Though the ceremony was only attended by 30 of the pair's closest friends and family, it reportedly cost £1,500 and was done and dusted in just over an hour. Nancy was decked out in a dress by McCartney's famous designer daughter, Stella.
In a note handed out before the service, McCartney asked guests to "politely refrain" from sharing their pictures on social networking sites.
The star-studded after party included supermodel Kate Moss, Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, Rolling Stone, Ronnie Wood, Jeff Beck, Jools Holland, Sharleen Spiteri, Twiggy, David Frost and artist Tracey Emin.
Mark Ronson played DJ while guests dined into salmon and truffle risotto and 'wined' on £110-a-bottle organic champagne.
Let's hope it's a case of third time lucky for Macca!

While some fiancees opt for skimpy white lingerie and bridal veils, others bare all in a tasteful nude shoot – or, cliche as it sounds, hop on a motorbike.
Founder of the Somerset business, 27-year-old Jodie Howe says her photographs are so in demand, she estimates 'shooting' over 100 brides every year.
"The girls who come in usually are very shy and nervous," says Howe. "Sometimes they come out in rashes because they are so tense but we talk to them and calm them down."
Linsey Blenkinsop, 31, was so pleased with the results of her strip tease, the photos now adorn the couple's spare room.
"I looked like something out of a magazine," said Blenkinsop. "I felt a million dollars and that's how you should feel before you get married."
So many of us are hotter than we think when we're young and insecure. And while it would be wonderful to have a sexy memento of that period in your life, I'm not sure about hanging the photos in a spare room when the in-laws come to visit!
