RECALL: "Impulse! & Co." and "Party Princess" Jewelry

The following items have been recalled due to excessive lead content, which can prove toxic if sucked or chewed by children:

Though neither Health Canada nor Deejay Jewellery Inc. has received any reports of incidents or illnesses related to the jewelry, when it tested it contained between 58% and 86% total lead which exceeds the legal limits.

Customers should immediately contact their municipality for instructions on how to safely dispose of the recalled items.

High Phthalate Content

RECALL: Time 4 Crafts Kid's Apron

The above children's craft apron (UPC 062823166257) has been recalled, as it contains a phthalate known as DEHP (Di-Ethylhexyl Phthalate) in excess of the allowable limit.

Phthalates such as DEHP can cause reproductive and developmental abnormalities in young children when items are sucked or chewed for extended periods.

Though neither Health Canada nor CTG Brands Inc. has received any reports of incidents or illnesses related to the use of this product, customers are advised to remove and immediately dispose of the item.

From February 2008 to January 2012, approximately 22,440 of the recalled aprons were sold at various dollar and discount stores across Canada.

Choking Hazard

RECALL: Fast Wheels Fun Car

Although neither Toy Galaxy or Health Canada has received any reports of incidents or injuries, it has recalled the this plastic toy car with the item number 36101 after it found that small parts of the toy can detach, causing a potential choking hazard to young children.

From January 2011 to January 2012, approximately 5,000 of the recalled toys were sold in Canada.
