Still discipling your kids by sending them to their room or by removing privileges? How's that working out for you?
When it comes to punishment, one mom's stroke of ingenuity kills two birds with one stone. Or, rather, cleans the house with one grounding.
According to an article in Huffington Post, a blogger known as Lynette created a point system in which her kids must perform household chores in order to work off their punishment. For instance, loading the dishwasher earns 40 points, while emptying it only earns 25.
A total of 500 points get the said kid ungrounded. There are no time restrictions, and her son managed to score all of his points in a single day.
The story of a woman who struck and killed a 17-year-old cyclist with her SUV has to be the ultimate in adding insult to injury.
According to an article in Canoe, Brandon Majewski's family was still grieving when they discovered their dead son was being sued—by the driver.
The fatal accident took place 18 months ago in Innisfil, Ont., when Sharlene Simon ploughed into Majewski and three friends, one of whom suffered serious injuries.
Now, incredibly, 26-year-old Simon is suing all three families—including the deceased Majewski—for $1.35-million to compensate the pain and suffering which has curtailed her "enjoyment of life." We can't even.
“She killed my child and now she wants to profit from it?" said Brandon's father, Derek Majewski. "She says she’s in pain? Tell her to look inside my head and she will see pain, she will see panic, she will see nightmares.”
Due to poor visibility on the road, there is no prospect of convicting Simon, whose lawsuit also targets the County of Simcoe for failing to adequately maintain the road.
Simon also claims the boys were negligent, for failing to apply their brakes properly.
The case makes for a disturbing precedent, which the Majewski's lawyer claims goes beyond the pale.
This famous lawsuit also left us speechless.
Isn't it exciting—rapper and model Iggy Azalea is currently number one on iTunes? But if you plan on catching her live show, don't expect to get up close and personal with the "Pussy" singer.
According to an article in CBC, the Australian-born 23-year-old confessed in an interview that she can no longer crowdsurf at concerts, because she's sick and tired of being sexually assaulted. Come again?
"Buying my album for $12 doesn’t mean you get to [assault] me when I come to your city."
Turns out, fans—female fans, in particular—were fingering the artist while she surfed the audience at her shows.
“I had to stop,” said Azalea. “I wear, no lie, two pairs of underpants and then a pair of skin-coloured tights and then my pants as like a protection barrier, because there’s just no way I’m going to be intruded."
