Mom Saves Kids In Moving Car

The Human Speed Bump

Mom Saves Kids In Moving Car

mom as speed bump

To what length would you go to save your children from harm? We often talk about throwing yourself in front of a speeding bullet. But few of us ever test the theory quite like a Massachusetts mom did.

According to an article in Yahoo, Mindy Tran's two-year-old twin daughters were buckled in and her car was in park, when she popped out to lock the front door.

Then the unthinkable happened. The Honda Accord began to roll backwards, out of the sloped garage and into oncoming traffic.

In that split second, all the 22-year-old mom could think of was stopping the car. And she did just that, in the only way that occurred to hershe threw herself down behind the car.

She suffered a broken leg and dislocated hip and shoulder in the process, but her plan worked. The car slowed enough for a neighbour to hop inside and park it. The car wasn't in gear at the time.

"My daughters are my everything, my everything, and I don't want to see them in the hospital, and I knew at that time it was either mine or theirs," said Tran.

Tran has since undergone surgery.

"I don't consider myself a hero," she said. "I am just a mother . . . My daughters and I are all right and keeping our heads up. I'm lucky to be alive."

Please do this to keep your kids safe in the car.

Kids Choir Kills Cover of Pharrell's 'Happy'

Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof

Kids Choir Kills Cover of Pharrell's 'Happy'

kids choir singing Pharrell's song Happy

What's the happiest, catchiest song you can think of? Well, big silly hats notwithstanding, the Despicable Me theme tune by Pharrell Williams had famous toes tapping and famous hands clapping all over the place during his recent Oscars performance.

Yet this rendition, via TIME, by the incredibly talented children's choir from the Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences, gives Pharrell a run for his money.

Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do

"Happy" Thursday!

A tour de force performance by this little girl had our jaws dropping.
