Stylish Hostess Gift Ideas

All For Under $20

Stylish Hostess Gift Ideas

'Tis the season for holiday parties, and although there is nothing wrong with arriving with a great bottle of wine for the hostess, I have put together a list of fabulous hostess gifts that are stylish, functional and personal. Did I mention that they are all under $20.00?!

When choosing a hostess gift keep I mind how well you know the hostess. If you are new friends, avoid buying décor items, but if you are old friends, then make it more personal.

A gift that is both beautiful and functional is a perfect option for everyone on your list. I love these salt and pepper shakers from West Elm. They would work with any tabletop.

These beaded napkins from Pier One are great for someone that loves to entertain.

How gorgeous is this pitcher from West Elm? It would be pretty filled with flowers.

This vintage inspired ice scoop from Pottery Barn is the perfect accessory to any hostess’s bar.

If you want to do something more personal, think about ordering personalized holiday gift tags like these by NOTES on Etsy. You can have them personalized with the hostess’ name and you can include her whole family.

Pretty personalized notepads from Paper Penny Co. are an adorable gift that are useful all year. You can have them personalized with one name, or the family name. Fun!

Disclaimer: I wrote this post for all of you. Really. But I may have also kind of written it to give my husband ideas for what to buy me for Christmas. Shhhhhhh!

Decorating With Maps

Travel Themed Home Decor

Decorating With Maps

My husband and I love to travel. In fact, he asked me to move to Europe with him the first night we met. I said yes and we did move to London not long after. I had already lived in Sweden and loved the chance to travel more. We explored a new country pretty much every month. It was amazing. He proposed to me in the courtyard of the Louvre in Paris.

When we got engaged we realized that we wanted to raise a family back home. So we left our travelling dreams behind and started new dreams: two adorable boys.

Even though our life here is great, we talk about travelling all the time. Both of us are counting the days until we can hop on a plane and see more of the world. Until then, I keep reminders throughout our home of our travels, including a framed map of London which I love.

I love the idea of using maps for decor. Especially when you choose them because they evoke a memory.

I love the idea of framing a series of small maps together: one for where you met, another one for where you got engaged and one for where you got married.

I think that using a map for a mat in a picture frame looks amazing, don't you agree?

Maps are great for kids' spaces too. They are educational and colourful.

What do you think? Would you use maps to decorate your home?
