Cinnamon Heart Marshmallow Popcorn

or candy + popcorn = mom is a hero!

Cinnamon Heart Marshmallow Popcorn

Looking for something fun and easy to do with your family?  Here's a recipe that is more of an activity than a recipe. Bonus:  It is a great way to get your kids in the kitchen to help you.  Super bonus?  They will think you are their hero when you tell them the ingredients: candy + marshmallows + popcorn.  Super crazy bonus?  You get to pulverize the candy in the blender and make Cinnamon Heart Dust.  They will literally think you are the bomb!

You'll Be Shocked To Know What's In The Popcorn You're Eating

This recipe came to me when I had way too many Cinnamon Hearts left around from Valentine’s Day and I wanted to add a little zing to a marshmallow popcorn recipe that I had been playing with in my kitchen.  It is the perfect way to get your kids excited to be in the kitchen; it’s fast, it’s red and it has candy and gadgets.  What else do you need? Plus, it’s so very super yummy, you may find yourself making some on the fly for the adults too.

Cinnamon Heart Marshmallow Popcorn

3 cups popped popcorn
1 jar of whipped marshmallow topping
2 tbsp water
1/2 cup Cinnamon Hearts
2 tbsp butter
2 tsp salt
pinch of cayenne (optional ingredient for the adult version)

Directions:

Start with plain popped popcorn.  I like to pop mine in a pan the old school way, but feel free to use microwave or air popped

Use your blender to pulverize the Cinnamon Hearts to a dust like consistency.

Take a saucepan and heat the butter and marshmallow topping over low heat until melted.  Add water to thin.

Add salt and cayenne (if using).

Add popcorn to the marshmallow mixture and stir until combined.  Sprinkle with Cinnamon Heart dust and mix to combine.

Turn onto a buttered baking sheet until cooled and hardened, about 30 minutes.

Enjoy and wait for the kids to ask if they can make it again!
