I love traveling to the United States for a hundred different reasons—one of them being the shopping. J.Crew, Banana Republic, Lacoste, Nordstrom and Target were just some of my favourite go-to stores when I was on vacation south of the border. Now I'm so glad that these stores (Nordstrom is coming soon!) are in Canada, because it makes shopping so much easier.
I've been to quite a few blog conferences over the years. I've been to BlogHer three times, Mom 2.0 once (and I've already got my ticket for next May!) and three BlissDom Canada conferencecs. I've loved them all—truly. I had the chance to speak last year, at BlissDom Canada. Being a community leader was a great experience.
I love shopping for and trying out beauty products. I could spend hours in stores like Sephora and Murale, and at all beauty counters in major department stores. Every few months, I fall in love with something new and add it to my "must-have-must-buy-must-tell-the-world-about" list.
Currently, here are my five favourite beauty products:
Who doesn't love their Chuck Taylor or Jack Purcell Converse sneakers? They're the sneakers that never go out of style, and are perfect for every member of the family—kids, moms, dads, everyone.
Converse has sneakers in many different colorus of the rainbow, so you're sure to find a pair that's for you, and now, you can even own a pair that's very unique... and Canadian!
With my birthday just days away, I thought it would be fun to put together a list of the things I am currently coveting. The things I'm showing here are all things money can buy, but the only true wish I have for my birthday is to enjoy the year surrounded by my lovely family, and my friends. I am more than thankful for everything, and I count my blessing every moment of every day. The only gift I need, I already have—my two children.
But... on my fantasy birthday wish list, here are some of things that I'd love:
Yorkville is my favourite place to be. A trip to Toronto without staying in Yorkville is not a possibility for me.
Yorkville has so much to offer tourists and locals, from the amazing high-end stores like Chanel, Hermes Gucci and Holt Renfrew, to the more affordable stores like H&M, Club Monaco, and Gap. Of course, stores are not all Yorkville is about, although shopping in Yorkville is a highlight for me; there is also the Royal Ontario Museum and the many fine restaurants and coffee shops lining the streets.
Believe me, I'm not ready to part with my flip flops quite yet, although I am certainly getting excited for fall.. and all the shopping! Especially for all the new shoes and booties I'm seeing right now.
Old Navy is one of my favourite places to shop—for myself, and for my children. I love all the tank tops and t-shirts in the summer, and I love their jeans. I also love the variety of clothes (stylish and oh-so-cute!) they always have for children, too. From swim shorts, to pants and pjs, I feel good about stocking up at Old Navy because the prices cannot be beat. Seriously.
I just had to share this exciting new with you today—Hudson's Bay Co. is buying Saks! That's right, a deal was just reached—for $2.9 billion US.
I'm not sure what this means for us, and when we'll be seeing the luxury department store here in Canada, but I know a good news shopping story when I see one! The company plans on opening seven full-line Saks stores and 25 Saks Off Fifth locations thorughout Canada.
One of the things I love the most about summer is all the entertaining we do—from pool parties to backyard BBQs, summer is all about gathering friends and family together and having a great time. I also love friends who entertain, and I never show up empty-handed.
Of course bringing a great bottle of wine is always a great idea, but here are some other gifts you could bring to your hostess that'll be sure to keep her smiling:
Let me start this post by coming out and saying I'm sorry. Believe me, I am sorry. I am writing about back-to-school products in July, because, let's face it, with August around the corner, it's time to start preparing for back-to-school! Right?
There is no other season I love as much as summer, but fall is a close second, especially because of all the excuses we have to go shopping. I love buying new backpacks and lunch bags for my children so they can start the new school year fresh.
I'm not the biggest fan of running shoes, and have never packed a pair in my suitcase. I do my best to stay fit and active, though—swimming, spinning, and long walks with my family. Also, shopping. That totally counts as a sport, and I know I burn hundreds of calories by walking through my favourite malls carrying shopping bags!
April showers bring May flowers? You can count on it! However, it seems we've gotten more rain in June and July that we did during the spring months.
I'm not a fan of rain—I'd much rather spend my days outside, when the sun is shining. Even though there's no controlling the crazy and unpredictable weather, we can be prepared by having the right equipment, right?
From rain boots to umbrellas, here's what you and your little ones need to be prepared the next time you're caught in a storm!
Summer is finally here, and I am thrilled! Warm, hot days and sunny skies? Bring. It. On.
We'll be spending a lot of time lounging by the pool this summer, and vacationing to South Florida. That means I'll be in a bathing suit most of the summer. Sure, it can be a little scary (and motivating to get in shape!) but when you know where to shop for the proper swim wear, it's not as bad as you might think!
Summer is practically here, and that means one thing: vacation time!
You already know how to pack for your vacation, but before you go, make sure these yummy beach essentials are in your bag to ensure a fashionable and stylish time away.
I love shopping for my children. I'm not too picky when it comes to what clothes I buy for my children, as long as the quality is good, and the clothes are comfortable.
As much as I love to shop for myself and for my children, it gives me great pleasure to shop for other people, too, especially for my close friends and family. I love giving gifts even if there's nothing specific to celebrate. It's always fun to randomly surprise people I love with an unexpected unique gift they'll love.
My city is currently under a heat advisory. I'm okay with this, though, because I've spent months waiting for the weather to warm up. I'm loving that now, I can sit outside, enjoy the sunshine (while wearing sunscreen, of course) and wear all the dresses that have been patiently waiting in my closet.
Summer is the most amazing season for a hundred different reasons, and one of those reasons is the ease of summer dressing. A little dress, a pair of flip flops, and out the door you go.
I am an adventurous girl when it comes to nails. I go from light pink, to hot pink. Okay, I'm kidding—I'm not adventurous at all when it comes to my nails, and I am not sure why—after all, no matter how crazy I get, it's not as if it's a lasting effect, right? A little nail polish remover, and we're right where we started from.
