Keeping Little Minds Busy

I came up with this little trick during one of my son's many visits to one of his specialists at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. We typically have long wait times and at four years old he quickly tires of the toys, games, and books I bring to entertain him.

It's very simple. All you do is tell a story. One person starts the story by telling the first line and it then moves to the next person who continues the story along by adding another line. You continue until you feel the story is complete. Each person adds his own characters, plots twists and creative add-ins. It keeps my little man busy and out of trouble when we aren't going anywhere for a while.

He is also is very proud of himself for coming up with such a great story!

Writing is my passion and I use it as a method of self therapy. Gets me through the day to day turbulence of life as a working mother.
