For years, I've used a cheap toothbrush and baking soda mixed with a little water to clean and shine my jewellery.
The soda acts as a gentle buffer, and avoids the expense and harsh chemicals. It's safe for all jewellery, and leaves my engagement and wedding rings super shiny!
