East End Children’s Centre is for all families, whether they feel especially yummy, yucky, delish or damned on any day of the week.
I, personally, learned about the centre through a Mom at a local park. Mom buzz is a powerful thing. Let me dish; it’s a children’s centre which offers a FREE drop-in for the “every-mom”. In a world, where stay-at-home-parents and caregivers are often isolated; East End Children's Centre provides a meeting place to share, learn and connect.
Set in the centre of the universe – Toronto - East End Children's Centre it is a lighthouse to families; welcoming caregivers of children aged newborn to school aged. It has three, toy filled, locations which offer free snack, circle sing-a-long and daily crafts. I was sold when I saw the kid sized potty next to the grown-up potty in the family washroom. Now that is damn SEXY to any toilet-training family.
East End Children’s Centre is a place where you don’t have to apologize for your kids – well – being kids. Noise happens. Water spills. No excuses required. It was created, over 20 years ago by a group of parents, as a stress-free, kid-friendly centre. We all deserve a little more “stress-free” in our lives; don’t you agree?
East End Children’s Centre doesn’t have celebrity endorsement. Like most small local Canadian charities it struggles to survive. Yet, it continues to make significant differences in the lives of so many who visit.
I became a weekly visitor with my two kids. Just as they grew too old to attend I began volunteering on the Board of Directors. It had been such an important destination to my little family – I felt compelled to give back.
So I’m here to create a little yummy mummy buzz of my own. Granted we aren’t at a park, our kids aren’t swinging together and neither of us have a double-double in hand. All of that aside – … “Have you heard of
East End Children’s Centre? It’s fab-u-lous! You should go.”
