Hi, I'm Roshan! My working titles are: wife, mother, writer and business owner. I generally like sharing my thoughts on daily life and what I learn as I hobble along life's path.
I write about being a mom of two kids, a 2.5 year old and a 10 month old (at the moment). I sometimes talk about being a wife/partner. I also own two businesses, both start-ups. So I guess you could call me a mompreneur, but I'm not sure I deserve that title just yet....we'll see how the next year goes. My first business is called Cloak and Curio - an online boutique for gently used children's clothing, locally handmade (in Ontario) children's clothing, toys and decor, and vintage toys. The business is focused on reusing, recycling, and upcycling. I figure it's the least I can do since I've been a consumer for most of my life.
My other business is Hot Quill Communications. I provide corporate communications and marketing consulting, program management and writing/editorial services on a freelance/short-term contract basis. I also love working on video productions, and I dabble in graphic design. I've spent over ten years working as a communications professional for top Canadian Financial Services companies...and I still love it!!
I should also mention that I live in Wellesley, Ontario - one of the friendliest little villages! We're about 15 minutes north west of Waterloo, Ontario. But I haven't always been a country girl. I've lived in Waterloo, downtown Toronto, Kingston and Whitby (where I grew up). I have also traveled a fair bit and I plan on taking more trips once I get over my nervousness about traveling with young children. My other loves are my fur babies: Sunny the dog and Ruby the cat. And, I love love love to eat good food and drink good drinks.
