Author Profile:

I used to be Jacqueline Parker, Writer, Editor of DrinksAtSix and content stragist. I am now "Maddie's Mom". I'm new to Motherhood, never sure if I'm doing it write, worried my daughter will put me through what I put my parents through and constantly worrying when she finally sleeps through the night. Why is she sleeping? Something must be wrong. She never sleeps this long.

I'm trying to find a way to balance motherhood with my career. I want the best of both worlds and I'm pretty sure that's possible.

About my kids:
Madeline Addis Court was born last summer and has grown into a funny, clever and beautiful little girl - at the tender age of one! She hasn't developed her words yet so she uses her voice by screaming - especially at cute puppies that she wants to snuggle. Maddie's middle name "Addis" is my Grandma's last name. I was very close to my Grandma who passed away when I was 6 weeks pregnant with Maddie. She had dementia at the age of 95 and when I whispered into her ear that I was pregnant, she replied "Oh dear, so am I". She was the first person to know and passed away the next day. I wish she had met Maddie because she would have been over the moon. I miss her but I know her constant laugh, clever wit and patience will live on through Maddie.
Parenting is...:
A constant state of chaos, awe and enchantment that I wouldn't trade for the world. I never knew how quiet and peaceful the world seems at 3 am. Or 4 am. Or 5:30 am.
We know you don't have a lot, but when you do, what do you like to do in your spare time?:
I love to catch up on my writing, stare at the 1 million photos of Maddie on my phone and cook. I love to try new recipes and test drive a few of my very own.
When are you at your yummiest?:
At the end of the day when we have had a full day of fun and adventure together and I'm ready to relax with a good storybook and a snuggle with my daughter. I love that there's a glass of wine just 20 minutes away but I am always trying to fit in one more squeeze or smooch.
If someone wrote a biography about you, what would be the title?:
So many shoes, so little opportunity tisiso wear them anymore
What's currently in your purse?:
my wallet, lip gloss, cheerios, Sophie, baby bottle cap, one Baby Gap shoe, one key to my old apartment, 1 black book for taking notes. No pen, no kleenex.
What superhero power would you like to have?:
Isis. She really rocked that dress and knew how to accessorize
If we gave you an elephant, where would you hide it?:
My husband collected a bunch of elephants from India and Asia. They are all over our house. So if you were trying to hide an elephant - anywhere in our house would be a safe bet. Authors disclaimer: I am not happy and do not support the elephant motif
