Main profile

Author Profile:

Isabelle Robillard is a mom of toddler twin girls, passionate communicator, writer and closeted nerd. With a functional addiction to documentary films and an penchant for science and science communications, she is an endless resource of mostly useless and sometimes interesting information. She believes that with the gift of writing comes the responsibility to speak to what she knows, and stick to the evidence. In the interest of seizing the day, she is slowly scratching things off her bucket list, most recently by taking up speed skating and cycling.

About my kids:
My fraternal twin daughters were born on a snowy 2013 December day. And just like two snowflakes, they are completely different. Zoe is a sensitive little person and the picture of her father. Maya is spunky and moves non-stop, and looks just like me. They are funny as heck and fascinating to watch and interact with!
Parenting is...:
A blessing. Difficult. Amazing. Rewarding. Exhausting. Hilarious. An experience in self discovery and growth.
We know you don't have a lot, but when you do, what do you like to do in your spare time?:
Time really is a luxury, but I think it's important to make a bit of time for the things I enjoy. Apart from spending time with my family, I've taken on the task of doing the things I always said I wanted to try, but never dared to. Recently, I joined a speed skating club. And then there are the usual suspects: reading, home improvement projects, wine... oh, and the minor addiction to documentary films.
When are you at your yummiest?:
When I'm with my girlfriends! These women can make any girl feel amazing.
If someone wrote a biography about you, what would be the title?:
Scattered Focus: A Journey Through an Extraordinarily Ordinary Life
What's currently in your purse?:
Wallet, passport, lip balm, gum, keys. It's a small purse.
What superhero power would you like to have?:
I would like to slow time down.
If we gave you an elephant, where would you hide it?:
In my office, so that people would constantly want to address the elephant in the room.
