Author Profile:
Danielle works full time as a Student Nutrition Program Coordinator, spending her days like a superhero attempting to make spinach desirable to non-adults (tip: toss some greens in a muffin recipe for some green 'Incredible Hulk' power treats - they'll never know the difference). By night Danielle trades her cape and lycra in for flannels and cuddles with her two awesome kids.
In her 'spare time' Danielle is a freelance writer with a specific interest in kids and families and author of the children's book 'Pepper'. As a professional speaker Danielle loves talking to kids about the writing process and hearing fabulous stories from the students she meets.

About my kids:
My eight year old James is a knowledge hungry kid whose rapid fire onslaughts of early morning questions make me realize just how little I retained from all those years of science class. James LOVES to build and create and has maintained that he wants to be an engineer since age three (thank you, Thomas and friends for the inspiration)!
Claire is our 'spirited' five year old who approaches life with zest and fearlessness. From early on Claire's sense of humour has been evident (as has her love for anything Britney Spears, GOD help us!)
Parenting is...:
... a challenge, a reward, a blessing, a life changing experience!
We know you don't have a lot, but when you do, what do you like to do in your spare time?:
I've realized that while I complain of having no spare time I use what little spare time I do have to think of new ways to keep busy. Writing, taking courses, volunteering with community initiatives and (my ultimate fave) hanging out with my kids and husband are what I love most about those extra hours in a week.
When are you at your yummiest?:
When I'm laughing (the kind of gasping-for-air, can't catch your breath kind of laugh). It really is the best medicine. *Note to self, pitch 'Laughter' brand cough syrup to pharmaceutical conglomerate.
If someone wrote a biography about you, what would be the title?:
What's currently in your purse?:
A bunch of old useless receipts that need to be tossed, my wallet, lip gloss, kleenex, wipes, hand sanitizer (all the mummy essentials).
What superhero power would you like to have?:
Ahhh, but I already feel that I have so many. If I could add one it would be the power to slow time down!
If we gave you an elephant, where would you hide it?:
Why hide it?! I've got a freakin' elephant!!!
Do you have a blog or website? :
