Author Profile:

Mom of 2 boys, stepmom to a 3rd.  My passion is reading and writting (when I get the opportunity).

Being a mom is more difficult than I ever anticipated.  My roles as a mom, step-mom  wife, cleaner, taxi-driver, sister, daughter, female, human, etc., all seem to change as fast as my kids change.

One of my parenting goals is to teach my kids to notice and appreciate the small things in nature and in life (the sound rain makes on the roof, snow falling in big flakes with no wind, the sound of cicadas in summer, the texture and smell of paper books).   By doing this I hope life will slow down for them (and me)

It's a wild, fleeting ride.  Enjoy it while you can!

About my kids:
I have 2 boys (Damian and Dexter - the names say it all). Constantly trying to stay 2 steps ahead of both, I often feel outnumbered and exhausted. They are bright, funny kids who consistently surprise me with their abilities and observations. They are both "spirited", and are worth every second of exasperation (at least that's what I seem to have convinced myself).
Parenting is...:
exhausting, crazy, fun, frustrating, challenging, humbling, hard, easy, worth it.
We know you don't have a lot, but when you do, what do you like to do in your spare time?:
Reading, writing and catching up on my "stories" (Dr. Who, Supernatural, Grimm, Teen Wolf... fantasy helps me escape!). Lately I've been creating and adding to my 2 blogs: www.lifeaftermykids.com and www.momstoyboxxx.com. I read and tweet as much as possible. When I have a more substantial amount of time I like to quilt and knit (more for meditative reasons then for creating clothing).
When are you at your yummiest?:
When I'm in the writing "zone" (I can't concentrate on anything else, and time flies by - I usually have to stop from exhaustion).
If someone wrote a biography about you, what would be the title?:
Me & My Boys
What's currently in your purse?:
Wallet (no cash), wipes, hand cream and anti-bacterial gel, ear phones.
What superhero power would you like to have?:
The ability to read through osmosis.
If we gave you an elephant, where would you hide it?:
Under the pool cover in my back yard (I wonder what that says about me).
