Cindy Crawford went naked for her 50th birthday — makeup-wise, that is. The iconic supermodel posted a makeup-free selfie this weekend to celebrate half a century of being one of the most beautiful women in the world.
To prove how little she's changed since becoming one of the fashion industry's most sought-after faces, she also posted an image from her 21st birthday for comparison:
Though her husband, Rande Gerber, whisked her away for a romantic getaway to St. Barths [1], Crawford — ever the savvy businesswoman — capitalized on her big day by giving away signed copies [2]of her autobiography, Becoming, [3]released last year.
"I wish I could say it was easy for me to be getting old. After all, I have had a lot of fun in this body," she writes. [4] "I always tease my daughter — who, everyone agrees, is a mini-me — and say, 'You have my old hair — I want it back!' Or, 'You have my old legs — I want them back!' She just giggles and says, 'It’s my turn now,' and she’s right.”
Last fall, Crawford became upset when an unretouched photo [5]of her circulated online from a 2013 shoot with Marie Claire. She told ELLE Canada [6], "That picture didn’t reflect what I saw when I looked in the mirror — even in the worst dressing-room lighting."
We think she looked amazing then and now, which leaves us with one burning question: What's her secret? "I think the most important thing is, if you're happy in your life and you're doing work that you like, that comes across," Crawford recently said [7], adding, "True beauty is the energy you give out, and that comes through being happy."
