DIWhy I Should Maybe Never Vlog Again

DIY Felt Art Project

I tried to vlog a DIY art project and it pretty much sucked. In a major way. So….instead of making a how-to video, I made more of a how-not-to video. Outtakes anyone? {feel free to scroll down to see the real how-to under the video…..blogged not vlogged}

Felt Art Project {blogged not vlogged}

What you need:

 a gallery wrapped canvas

  paper for templates

  felt in a variety of colours {Fabricland has a great selection}

  fabric glue or E-6000 glue

  stapler

  scissors

  felt shapes/letters

How to:

  Sketch your design on paper. Make and cut templates for the major elements to use as tracers.

  Wrap the canvas in felt, staple to the back. Do opposite ends first and corners last. Trim any excess felt

  Cut out the pieces of felt for all of the details.

  Lay everything in place until you are happy with the look.

  Time to get gluing! I glued each piece onto the snowman before gluing him onto the background.

  Add the smaller details. For this piece, I used pre-cut adhesive letters and snowflakes. Easy peasy!

And that’s it…..so easy and so cute!!

I made this piece for a recent appearance on Cityline as part of the background for a children’s holiday table. I think this type of art is perfect for a child’s room or playroom.

To sum up: I suck at vlogging but I am pretty good at DIYing. You can’t win ‘em all, right?
