Long story short, I stumbled across this website late last week called Peek. It’s a new user testing platform where you submit your blog/website URL and a real person will visit your site, record a five minute video with their first impressions, and then it is emailed to you. For free.
So, I submitted my url for Speed Skating Mom and within 24 hours I got my video.
The user who did my first impression answered specific prompted questions while visiting my site:

What would you do next on this page? Please go ahead and try to do that now. Please describe your experience.
Thinking about the overall experience on this site, what did you like about this site? What did you not like?
Would you come back to this website in the future? Why or why not?
It was interesting (and scary!) to watch a video with a person giving live feedback on my website, but ultimately it also made me aware of things I need to change and whether or not my site was user friendly.
All I can say is that I think everyone should give it a try. That’s it. Give it a go and let me know your results.
