Ok mummies - you can thank me later cause I have to share this hidden gem! 

Amansala Spa’s Bikini Boot Camp is a favorite discovery of mine.  The name translates to “tranquil sea” and this is a fabulous eco-chic resort on a pristine beach in Tulum, Mexico. 

A little remote, a little rustic and a lot of getaway from the everyday!  Picture the setting… you’re on a beautiful sandy beach, gorgeous turquoise sea, sun is shining and palm trees are swaying in the breeze.  There is a cluster of huts right on the beach and it feels a little like your own private paradise.  Sound like heaven?  

The activities here include body sculpting, beach walking, dance classes and yoga, but sore muscles never fear as you will be rewarded with ocean-side massage that is such a treat you will want to work them again!  Pick and choose your fun, fitness activities and enjoy a swimming excursion, cycling to the Mayan Ruins, local souvenir shopping and just plain lounging - all are options.  A highlight of the week was the clay body treatment – we covered ourselves in mud and let it cake and harden in the warm sun and then dove into the sea to rinse off.

The cuisine consists of local specialties, delicious, flavorful recipes of lean proteins like fish and chicken and lots of fresh, healthy fruits and veggies.  Not only will you not go hungry, you’ll find that these tasty meals satisfy your appetite.

My first experience with Bikini Boot Camp was over 3 years ago and I loved it so much that I went back again last year.  This place is great on your own or for a girl’s getaway or a special occasion - from bachelorettes who want to get toned and tanned to ladies celebrating the big 4-0.

I went solo when I first found this diamond in the rough.  An April trip was ideal for me to kick off my “summer is coming, get out the bikini” season.  I had an adventure, made friends with women from all over the world and came home feeling a little more buff just in time to break out the bikini for May 24 weekend. 

This year I’m taking my sister because as I mentioned, it’s too good not to share!
