Last year I wrote about how I put notes into Son No. 1's school lunches. He never mentioned them and I wasn't sure if they were even being read but I kept putting them in, even on the mornings we were running late. Then one very special day, he wrote me back. He was reading them! I continued putting notes in his lunch for the rest of the school year and started again on the very first day of school this year.
Every day for the past 2 1/2 weeks, I've packed his lunch and put in a note - some days the notes are filled with encouragement, other days they're plain ol' silly - but I put them each and every day.
Yesterday he wrote me back.

Kinda gives you the warm fuzzies, doesn't it?

Oh, my God... that is HILARIOUS! I'm sure you will cherish that note forever and ever... nice to know your son has your awesome sense of humour! Haha... can't wait to start doing this with my kids!

They can say some heart-warming stuff, can't they? I think Ethan would die if I put a note in his lunch. He thinks everything is embarassing.

Wonderful! I put riddles and jokes in kids lunches. If it's a riddle, they don't get the answer until they come home - then I know they've read them. If it's a joke, I usually hear fromthem or one of their friends. I love this idea!! DD is in 7th and has started to ask I not do it anymore. :( Apparently it's embarassing

Sharon came to work at the YMC as the Yummy Mummy Club Coordinator after winning Canada's Yummiest Mummy Contest, a contest based on creativity and not on parenting skills (*whew* wipe beads of sweat from brow).
After a year and a half of coordinating the ins and outs of the YMC while managing the chaotic life of being a stay at home mom to two boys, and even though you will find at least one spelling or grammar error in every single one of her blogs, Sharon was promoted to Editor.
