Men and Women Have Different Times of Arousal, Survey Says

Men and women have completely different times of "Peak Horniness."

Men are from Mars, women are from Venus, and never shall they be the same. At least in the sack, according to a survey conducted by erotic toy company Lovehoney.

Based on the 2,300 adults polled, men and women have completely different times of "Peak Horniness" (it's all about the scientific terminology y'all). While men were found to be most "in the mood" between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., women were most turned on later in the day, from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.

To break it down even further, the company analyzed data to determine that the average "Sex O'Clock" time for men is 7:45 a.m., while for women it's 11:21 p.m.. According to the survey, only 16 per cent of men say they regularly want sex before falling asleep, and only 11 per cent of women felt passionate early in the morning.

So what's a girl (or guy!) to do?

Well, it's not all bad news. The survey also suggested that people tend to settle down with partners that have similar sex drives to themselves— 63 per cent of women and 54 per cent of men said that they wanted sex roughly the same amount as their partner. Though people admitted to having experienced previous issues due to mismatched sex drives, it all seems to work out in the end.

Lovehoney co-owner Richard Longhurst explains, "There are big differences in Sex O'Clock between the sexes. Men are ready for sex just before breakfast whereas women most want passion last thing at night. What is encouraging is that most people tend to find sexual happiness in the end with a partner with similar needs."

Our take-away from this? Meet each other halfway and have some hot afternoon sex. Relationships are about making compromises after all.
