Why Is Home Staging Important?

Home staging

Blahniks for your Bungalow? That may be one way to make your home look fabulous! Surely you know that putting your most bitchin’ foot forward is no longer a trend. It may be easier to fit shoes than to fit Tommy Lee than your condo, but it’s much easier to hire me or a reasonable facsimile. Who am I? I’m a professional home stager.

There is a new rock star flopping on that backstage couch and her name is Home Staging. No longer are the real estate agents the rock stars in the home selling arena. I will get your house rocking and ready to sell. I will never ask you pick out the brown M&M’s but I will ask you to take down your 20 x 20 wedding photos though. Psst…nice headband BTW.

The stage reference is true. Staging is putting your best look forward. It is making everyone in the audience want you. Bands do this with the *yawn* oh –so-tired ‘live performance’ music video. Big arena shot from stage to adoring crowd. There she is. That one female fan sitting above the crowd, that perfect hair, her flimsy white tank top, her man below to which she sits, his shoulders bigger than David Lee Roth’s ego.

Home staging is no longer the roadie no one wants to….f…f… fraternize with. Home Staging is no longer the opening act. Home Staging is killing, center stage and all you have to do is buy a ticket.

Design. Word. Photo. Biz Smarts. Each ingredient contributes to your home staging cocktail. Would you rather drink from that green plastic tumbler you found in your kids tickle trunk complete with dog hair? Or a frosted Riedel glass with the best premium vodka and a lemon curl constructed in the shape of the Eiffel tower? Welcome to the age of home staging.

Before you whip off your pj’s and head to the liquor barn for some much-needed supplies, answer me this. When was the last time you heard a home seller say “I am so happy my house is not selling. I am covering two mortgages and running my credit limit as high a 23 year old snowboarder at a Bob Marley tribute concert”

A professional stager will know how to make your bungalow the biggest rock star on the block. With a tidy profit you may just have enough for a new pair of Choos.
