There’s nothing like that feeling of waking up bright and early Christmas morning and watching the look of sheer delight on faces, tearing into stockings. And we’ve got the perfect stocking stuffers for everyone on Santa’s list: whether young, old (ish), or somewhere in between, here’s what we think will be lighting up faces as brightly as the tree this year.
For the cocktail enthusiast...
Craft cocktails - and the art of making them at home - have made a huge resurgence in the past few years (thank you, Don Draper). This year, for the cocktail enthusiast on your list, help next level their budding passion for the craft with the right gear that they might not get for themselves…and offer to be the taste tester, of course!
Think:
+ small batch bitters, classic bar recipe book, mixology accessories like a long stir spoon, jigger, fancy garnishes like cherries, olives, or toothpick paper straws, speciality liqueurs, or a classic mini shaker.
For the one who's always organized...
Is there someone on your list who seems to have a plan…to execute their plan? Support their cause to keep themselves (and probably you) organized with extra details to embellish their natural flair for delighting in the details.
Think:
+ sweet little notebooks, gorgeously coordinated office supplies, Sharpie Colour Burst markers (super easy to find at Walmart!), and anything else that’s going to keep their daily planner looking oh so worth of Pinterest.
For little kids...
We all have simple, playful memories of our own childhood. Little ones still love the magic that comes from simplicity, and won’t be able to keep their hands off of the things that invite them to use their imaginations and play.
Think:
+ classic games of cards, jacks, and pick up sticks, tiny or board books, wooden toys and puzzles, nature guides, extra craft supplies, and the quintessential and classic clementine.
For not so little kids...
Our kids grow up so fast; Christmas is the chance to slow time down a notch, and let them kick it old school, with an all analog kit. What’s old is new again, so don’t be afraid to channel that same feeling on Christmas morning.
Think:
+ toys from your own childhood like view finders, portable cassette players, instant cameras, and view finders, field notes books with natural pencils, camp style patches, and novelty air plants that will make even the strangest of teenage spaces feel a little more organic.
For the gal who's always on the go...
Got a Carrie Bradshaw style "writer without a pen" friend? Fill her stocking with things to make her busy bee life much easier, with all the amenities of home…in a highly portable (and purse-able) fashion.
Think:
+ snacks (or breakfast) on the go, trial and traveled sized vials of lotion, mascara, and dry shampoo, Paper Mate Inkjoy pens (always a colourful and welcome gift with a notebook or paper pad to doodle some joy) so she can write down last minute notes away from her desk, a water bottle, extra phone charger, and lip balm.
For the one who has everything...
We all know someone who has everything, and needs nothing. Yes, we all need socks and undies, or a new toothbrush once in awhile, and by January who doesn't need to restock desk supplies? But if you want to make Christmas morning minimalist (and millennial) friendly, go with something they can consume, while enriching the experience of their life.
Think:
+ gift cards for mini spa treatments, car washes, and coffee, offers to do nice things, Sharpie Colour Burst markers to re-up their supply (because hey - everyone needs new Sharpies), novelty books and bookmarks, and paper back poetry collections.
For the one who puts everyone else first...
You know the one - the one who spends time and energy on everyone but herself? Treat her. Treat her stocking as an invitation to slow down and enjoy a little luxury, with the opportunity to pay a fraction of the attention to herself as she pays to everyone around her. And if this IS you, don’t be shy to share this collection with Santa himself, so that you can be sure to get exactly what you need on Christmas morning.
Think:
+ luxe beauty and self care products, palo santo or French incense with crystals and a beautiful match box to augment (or encourage) her mediation practice, jewelry, loose leaf floral tea, and anything else that shows her she is worth it…every day of the year.
