Give The Gift of Vibe Dance and Fitness This Holiday Season

It's a gift of fun, of freedom, of movement

Every time I dance, I turn into a better version of me.

This is the message that all Vibe dancers will broadcast when they wear their 2014 official t-shirts.

And that’s exactly what Vibe is: a place to dance, of course, and a place for dancers to turn into better versions of themselves.

There is a truly unique “vibe” at Vibe, located just north of Toronto in Thornhill. It feels as if your child is getting an individualized experience, even though the classes are full and the hallways are busy. Vibe is bustling with dancers and parents and siblings. Each studio room is perfectly packed with kids breakdancing and doing acro, dancing hip hop or jazz or lyrical.

And yet.

It’s a place where you can walk through the doors, leave your stresses and worries and stuff at the door, and spend an hour or two focusing on nothing but YOU. It’s a safe place where Marnie and Rena Schwartz, Co-Owners/Artistic Directors of Vibe Dance Studio, and their amazing staff want you to bring your differences with you and embrace them.

The non-competitive environment means that there’s exactly zero competition between other dancers. In every class there are dancers of various abilities, of various sizes, of various ages. And no one seems to notice. The only thing you really notice are the smiles—well, and the pride and determination—on each dancer’s face.

And you can see it in the end-of-the-year shows, too.

The dances are beautifully choreographed, the costumes are fun, and the steps are intricate and detailed. But when dancers aren’t competing against other dancers, there’s room to focus on being the best you can be. When dancers aren’t worried about tight-fitting, revealing costumes, there’s room to be comfortable and focus on stretching a bit farther, moving a bit quicker, jumping a bit higher.

Vibe is about having fun, it’s about building positive self-esteem, it’s about moving your body and staying healthy.

And it’s about turning into a better version of yourself.

Instead of a toy or trinket that might lose their interest quickly, why not give your kids the gift of VIBE this holiday season?

It's a gift of fun, of freedom, of movement, and one they won't tire of. The January 2014 schedule is already up on their website. There is no shortage of options—acro, ballet, hip hop, jazz, tap, breakdance, contemporary, kickboxing—and various age levels and abilities. You can even come in and take a FREE trial class!

Note: This article isn’t sponsored. I have been a fan of Vibe since my daughter started there over eight years ago. My girls love to dance, and they often use the front room in our home to show off and practice their Russian jumps and pump, pump, get out of my rooms, and raise the roofs. I have no doubt that the joy on their faces trickles down from the joy they experience in their classrooms at Vibe.
