Blended To Perfection

With the smell of fresh pencil shavings in the air, the busy back-to-school rush is upon us! After the relaxing and fun days of summer, it can be hard for Canadian moms to get themselves and their kids back into the groove.

As a busy mom I know the simple route is the best way to go when there are kids involved. By using an Oster Beehive Blender to prepare fresh and healthy snacks and drinks for the whole family, you’ll be in the back-to-school spirit in no time!

When juggling piano lessons and hockey practice, work commitments and science projects, you can go crazy if you try to get too complicated in the kitchen. Simple solutions are the answer:

For a delicious and healthy after school snack make a protein-packed dip like Roasted Red Pepper Hummus. Scooping up the dip with assorted fresh veggies or pita chips, the kids will have the energy to finish up their homework – lickity-split.

Off to a slow start in the morning? A Java Smoothie, filled with that all-important caffeine punch, is the perfect way to kick-start your morning routine.

Want to surprise the team with a treat after practice? Make a fruit smoothie (with fresh strawberries, bananas or blueberries) and freeze it into popsicles – the kids will appreciate this cool snack after sweating it out on the field.

Mummies need to have fun too! For your next girl’s night out or PTA meeting why not host a Tiki-style party? A delicious Blueberry Colada will have your guests relaxed in no time as they reminisce about the easy days of summer.

Check out some of my favourite quick and easy Oster blender recipes – finally you can be a multi-tasking mom while still keeping your cool.
