Great Canadian Bacon Burger

Great Canadian Bacon Burger

Looking for the perfect for the long weekend crowd pleaser? You’re going to love the Great Canadian Bacon Burger with Homemade Maple Mustard!

Giving a nod to our Canadian roots with a super simple homemade mustard, this burger delights the whole family…because we added bacon. Start with your family favourite homemade burger (we used bison) or go ahead and buy them frozen, adding these elevated toppings to make your life “effortlessly elevated.”

1. Mix 1 cup mustard powder with 1 cup apple cider vinegar in a glass bowl, and let sit for a couple hours.

2. Whisk in 4 egg yolks and a cup of Canadian maple syrup.

3. Create a double boiler by placing the mixing bowl above a pot of boiling water, and stir constantly till thick (about 5 minutes), and let cool.

4. Spread on your burger fresh off the grill, and top with old cheddar and crispy bacon on a soft bun, like Naan bread.

Kids will love this with apple juice and raw veggies on the side; if you wanted to pair that with a craft brew, national Caesar, or even just a bit of whiskey…don’t worry, we won't tell anyone what’s in your thermos.
