When I was a Girl Guide leader and my husband a Boy Scout leader, we spent way too much time planning food for our camps. The kids probably would have been happy to eat boxed mac ‘n cheese and store bought cookies, but that’s just not how we roll. I wish I’d thought of these campfire treats back then, because they would have been a huge hit, and made a nice change from s’mores.
The centre is an easy-to-make microwave fudge, then gummy bears and pretzels form the flames and logs of the campfire.
1/4 cup heavy (whipping cream)
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1 batch fudge (above)
1 bag pretzel sticks
Handful red and orange gummy bears
Makes 8 – 10 campfire treats, depending upon size. Recipe can easily be multiplied.
