How to Slice Mushrooms with Ease

Twitter friend, @vanillabeanbake, mentioned a fantastic tip on Twitter: when you have a lot of mushrooms to slice, an egg slicer works wonders! I tested this and it works beautifully. I found that it helped to de-stem the mushrooms first as they were kind of tough and made it hard for the slicer to get all the way through. This is also a really great way to get little ones to help you in the kitchen without giving them knives. You could probably also use this for softer fruit such as mango, pears, strawberries, or kiwi.
