Cindy Crawford Celebrates 50 With Makeup-Free Selfie

"True beauty is the energy you give out"

Cindy Crawford went naked for her 50th birthday — makeup-wise, that is. The iconic supermodel posted a makeup-free selfie this weekend to celebrate half a century of being one of the most beautiful women in the world.

To prove how little she's changed since becoming one of the fashion industry's most sought-after faces, she also posted an image from her 21st birthday for comparison:

Though her husband, Rande Gerber, whisked her away for a romantic getaway to St. Barths, Crawford — ever the savvy businesswoman — capitalized on her big day by giving away signed copies of her autobiography, Becoming, released last year.

"I wish I could say it was easy for me to be getting old. After all, I have had a lot of fun in this body," she writes. "I always tease my daughter — who, everyone agrees, is a mini-me — and say, 'You have my old hair — I want it back!' Or, 'You have my old legs — I want them back!' She just giggles and says, 'It’s my turn now,' and she’s right.”

Last fall, Crawford became upset when an unretouched photo of her circulated online from a 2013 shoot with Marie Claire. She told ELLE Canada, "That picture didn’t reflect what I saw when I looked in the mirror — even in the worst dressing-room lighting."

We think she looked amazing then and now, which leaves us with one burning question: What's her secret? "I think the most important thing is, if you're happy in your life and you're doing work that you like, that comes across," Crawford recently said, adding, "True beauty is the energy you give out, and that comes through being happy."
