Smoking in movies isn’t often perceived by us as advertising, and there are companies capitalizing on our lack of awareness. 86% of movies with smoking were rated for kids and teens in Ontario, and at least 185,000 youth aged 0-17 living in Ontario will be recruited to smoking due to their exposure to onscreen movies.
Want to make a change? Come join YMC and @hookedhollywood on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 9pm for the #SmokeFreeMovies Twitter party. We’ll hold an enlightening conversation about the unpleasant truth behind the subtlety of smoking in Hollywood films and talk about what we can do to protect our kids.
During the party, we’ll be giving away four (4) $100 Visa gift cards and two (2) $50 Visa gift cards.
Don’t let our kids' futures go up in smoke. See you at the party!
