Four Lip Products For Cold Weather

Moisturizing products to keep your pout pretty despite the Polar Vortex!

by: Zeba Khan

With the unrelenting cold and dryness, you'll have to be extra vigilant about keeping your lips healthy and moisturized this year. Whether you prefer a natural look or vibrant colours, I have you covered with four hydrating options. These lip products will keep your lips plumped and pretty no matter what your makeup style is.

OPTION 1: THE PLUMPER (Bare Love Lips, Luxury Lip Fuel, $18)

This milky pink gloss isn't just pretty to look at, it's all-natural and eco-friendly, too! It uses Safflower Oil for moisturization and Alba Sprout Extract for plumping. Although it can be worn on its own, I usually layer this under a lip crayon. Unlike other lip plumpers I've used, this didn't make my lips sting at all (though your experience may vary).

OPTION 2: THE STAPLE (Nivea, Milk & Honey, $2)

Used by every member of my family—from hubby to the kiddiesthis balm contains shea butter, honey, and milk extracts. It looks cheerful (hello, yellow!), smells amazing, and keeps lip flakiness away. Nivea is known for their highly effective lip balms, but I personally think this Milk & Honey version is their best one.

OPTION 3: THE CRAYON (Revlon, Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Viviacious, $9.95)

One of my most used lip products, this crayon combines the hydration of a balm, the precision of a lip pencil, and the pigmentation of a lipstick. The Triple Butter formula, containing shea, mango, and coconut butter, provides amazing moisturization.

OPTION 4: THE STAIN (L'Oreal, Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lipcolour in Rouge Allegro, $12.99)

An oil-infused gloss with rich and vibrant pigmentation. The gloss wears off evenly and leaves behind a subtle stain of colour.
